Suzhou classical gardens, also known as "Suzhou gardens", are the general name of Chinese classical gardens located in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. Suzhou classical gardens originated in the Spring and Autumn Period, developed in the Jin and Tang Dynasties, flourished in the Song and Song Dynasties, and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Suzhou is known as the "City of Gardens". Private gardens in Suzhou were built in the sixth century before the Qing Dynasty. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, there were more than 170 gardens inside and outside the city, and there are more than 50 existing gardens.

Suzhou classical gardens, houses and gardens are integrated, which can be enjoyed, toured and lived. The formation of this architectural form is a creation of human attachment to nature, pursuit of harmony with nature, beautification and improvement of their living environment in cities with dense population and lack of natural scenery. The Chinese philosophy, history and humanistic customs contained in Suzhou classical gardens are a symbol and concentration of the cultural and historical traditions and local customs in the south of the Yangtze River. They represent the essence of Chinese culture and have a unique historical position and significant artistic value in the history of world gardening. Suzhou classical gardens, represented by Humble Administrator's Garden and Lingering Garden, are known as "Rebuilding the universe within a short distance", and are the leader and pride of Chinese garden culture.
