The formation of this architectural form is a creation of human attachment to nature, pursuit of harmony with nature, beautification and improvement of their living environment in cities with dense population and lack of natural scenery. The Chinese philosophy, history and humanistic customs contained in Suzhou classical gardens are a symbol and concentration of the cultural and historical traditions and local customs in the south of the Yangtze River. They represent the essence of Chinese culture and have a unique historical position and significant artistic value in the history of world gardening.
